Applications welcomed for Non-Executive Director vacancy

There’s still time for an experienced individual with a background at senior level in the NHS, research or a clinical role to apply for a Non-Executive Director role at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

The successful candidate will join the Trust’s Board of Directors, helping to steer the organisation’s strategic direction in the coming years.

Non-Executive Directors play a crucial role in providing scrutiny and challenge to the Executive Directors, who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation.

Frank Collins, Chairman of the Oswestry-based hospital, said: “This post is an exceptional opportunity for a health professional to share their expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of people in the community.

“We are specifically seeking an experienced individual with either an appropriate senior clinical or NHS background or experience in education and research to provide additional balance to the existing Board of Directors.

“The Trust’s strategy for the next few years is based upon providing the very best services to our population and also enhancing our reputation as a national centre of excellence.

“However, there is much to do and the demands on the Board increase from year to year. This is one of the reasons we are looking to make this appointment.

“We anticipate that this new appointment will complement the skill and expertise of our existing Executive and Non-Executive Directors as well as providing an opportunity to develop a more diverse and representative Board of Directors.”

The successful candidate will be expected to commit three days per month to the role, to include attendance at the monthly Board of Directors meetings. They will be paid a salary of £12,241 per year.
