Nurses urged to step forward at RJAH recruitment event

Nurses interested in joining the Theatres team or working as a ward nurse at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital are being encouraged to attend a special recruitment day next month.

The event will be held on Sunday, July 2, taking place between 9am and 2pm, when the hospital’s main entrance will become a hub for visiting nurses to meet and have a chat with the teams.

Experienced, newly qualified and student nurses who are qualifying this year are invited to attend the recruitment day.

Bev Tabernacle, Director of Nursing, is keen to see as many nurses as possible on the day.

She said: “This is a fantastic place to be a nurse. We’re looking for experienced or newly qualified nurses to join our teams; we have a fantastic support framework for these nurses to support development and progression.

“We want nurses who show compassion and exhibit the behaviours which will enable them to deliver excellent care to our patients.  Full and part-time posts are available, we can also offer rotational posts to widen the experience of those nurses who may want to work with us.

“We advertise roles in the usual way on our NHS Jobs page all the time, but we wanted to meet as many nurses as possible through the day, and provide them with an offer of employment following assessment on the day through the ‘one stop shop’ day.

“This is the perfect way to invite people in and give them a taste of what’s on offer. We want to show nurses how great it is to work here and let them see for themselves how we maintain a high level of patient care.”

Sue Pryce, Deputy Director of Human Resources, added: “We have held a number of recruitment events in recent months and have found them to be a great way of showing what we do for staff in terms of careers and education. Sometimes an advert doesn’t do it justice.

“However we always want to hear from potential staff, through the recruitment evening or otherwise. There are always new opportunities appearing if you check the NHS Jobs page regularly.”

If you are interested in attending the recruitment day, please let us know in advance by contacting our HR team on 01691 404390 or by emailing
