Paediatrics - Treatment of Perthes Disease - Leaflet

Perthes disease is caused by an interruption of the blood supply to the head of the femur (thigh bone), the reason for which is unknown. It may result in loss of the spherical shape of the ‘ball’ of the hip joint, with secondary restriction of movement and shortening of the leg.
