Staff Self-Testing

The way in which NHS staff order lateral flow tests and report their test results has now changed - instead of collecting tests from work and reporting it via our online form, staff will need to go online and order boxes through the Government testing service.

These boxes give enough tests for three-and-a-half-weeks and they will be delivered directly to your home. NHS staff should also select the NHS organisation they work for when ordering the tests.

Staff must record the results of their lateral flow test - whether it's positive, negative or invalid - via the national reporting system on the Government website. These results will then be reported back to organisations. Please ensure results are reported within 24 hours of taking the lateral flow test.

It's important for staff to continue to carry out the twice-weekly tests, even if you are fully vaccinated against covid-19. It's also vital that staff continue to observe the guidance in place, including social distancing and the use of face masks.

As a reminder any staff members who have tested positive for Covid-19 will be unable to start self-testing for at least 90 days after their positive test was taken.
