Search for a journal

Subs-by-specialty-table-2018 We have a range of journal titles with an emphasis on orthopaedics and related disciplines, altogether comprising around 60 current subscriptions, either in print or electronic format.

On this page you can find information about the journals available to you and how to find them:

Current E-journal subscriptions

Most of our journal subscriptions are electronic subscriptions, and should be accessed by searching for the title you wish to view on the NHS Evidence journals page using your RJAH ATHENS password. For help with this, see our step by step guide.

All RJAH staff and students on placement are entitled to an NHS Athens password to access the e-journals. For more information, see ATHENS.

You can also browse a list of our current electronic journal subscriptions.

Library  journal archive

All our print archive of journals are stored outside of the library.  We retain a substantial print archive of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic related journals. To find out what we have, see our latest full journal holdings list. Click here to view a list of current journals grouped by specialty.

NHS e-journals

As part of the nationally purchased NHS England Core Content collection, you have access to over 1000 electronic full-text journal titles. The collection covers both clinical and health management titles, and is accessed via the NICE Evidence journals page, where you can either browse journal titles by in alphabetic order or search for specific titles.

To search for e-journals paid for by the Library from the NICE Evidence journals page, you will need to login via OpenAthens or register for an OpenAthens account. The link for these options are found in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
