Surgical Division

We want experienced or newly-qualified Registered Nurses who are committed to delivering high-quality, patient centred care and are eagar to advance their orthopaedic skills in a world-renowned centre to join our Surgical Division.

Our Surgical Division includes three orthopaedic wards, an oncology ward, a Private Patient Unit, our High Dependency Unit (HDU) and our Outpatients Departments.

Please note: we are currently only recruiting for our three orthopaedic inpatient wards.

Powys, Clwyd and Kenyon Wards

These are acute inpatient wards receiving a diverse group of patients across all sub specialities of orthopaedics - including arthroplasty, revision surgery, upper limb, lower limb, sports injuries and spinal disorders. They also provide nursing for complex orthopaedic conditions such as peri-prosthetic fractures.

They are led by Ward Managers Deb Povall, Anne Lloyd and Hayley Woodcock respectively.

The inpatient wards provide a great environment to develop general skills and knowledge in relation to orthopaedic care. Following clinical pathways and working alongside the multi-disciplinary team nurse led discharge by criteria is promoted. A vast range of clinical skills can be developed such as venepuncture, cannulation, catheterisation, wound care and removal of surgical drains within a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
